Details

What AniMelo does

AniMelo lets you discover anime: trending and popular titles, the airing schedule, rankings, search, details and comments for each title, and a personal list. It shows where titles can be watched and can open other apps or websites for that. Those apps and websites have their own privacy policies.

Stored on your device

Clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app deletes all of this.

Your account and Sign in with Google

You can browse AniMelo and read comments without an account. An account is needed for My List, new-episode alerts and taking part in comments. Accounts use Sign in with Google: Google shares your name, email address, profile picture and Google account ID. We never get your Google password.

AniMelo's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can remove AniMelo's access in your Google Account (Security, then Your connections to third-party apps & services). That does not delete your AniMelo account; see below.

Comments

When you post a comment or reply, your name and Google profile picture are shown with it to everyone using AniMelo. Your email address is never shown.

Push notifications

AniMelo uses Firebase Cloud Messaging, a Google service, to send notifications such as new episodes of popular titles. Your device gets a push token from Google. When you are signed in, the token is linked to your account so alerts meant for you reach your devices: new episodes from My List, and replies and reactions to your comments. Turn notifications off at any time in the app's alert settings or your device's settings.

No ads, no tracking

AniMelo shows no ads and does not use advertising IDs, analytics or crash reporting services.

Sharing

We do not sell your information. It is processed only by the services needed to run AniMelo:

We may disclose information if the law requires it.

Delete your account

Delete your account and its data at any time, in the app (Account, then Delete account) or by email. Deleting removes your name, email address, picture, Google account ID, My List, alerts, settings, signed-in devices, likes, dislikes and reports at once, permanently. Your comments lose their text, GIF and link to you; where others replied they stay as "Deleted". Nothing else is kept.

Security

Everything between the app and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS. Sign-in sessions are stored encrypted on your device and only as a one-way hash on our servers.

Children

AniMelo is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we update this page and the "Last updated" date at the top.
